Hamdi Ulukaya and President of Human Rights Campaign Urge Businesses to Show Up for LGBTQ Refugees

To mark World Refugee Day and Pride Month, Tent Partnership for Refugees Founder and CEO of Chobani, Hamdi Ulukaya, teamed up with the President of the Human Rights Campaign, Alphonso David, to author a piece for the World Economic Forum’s Agenda blog. In the piece, they urge the business community to stand shoulder to shoulder with  LGBTQ refugees — and offer three ways businesses can support them.  

LGBTQ refugees are fleeing persecution and violence facing refugees across the world, but many are also leaving places where simply being members of the LGTBQ community puts them in danger of imprisonment, torture, or even death. Even when LGBTQ refugees are starting their new lives in another country, they are more vulnerable to discrimination and isolation — hindering their ability to succeed.
