Tent México Welcomes New Cohort of Members, Now Numbers More Than 60 Companies Committed to Helping Refugees and Migrants In Mexico to Connect to Jobs
Mexico, June 25, 2024 – Today, Tent México – a national business coalition of companies committed to helping refugees and migrants access the labor market through job preparation and employment – is proud to announce that it is welcoming 11 new member companies to its network, including Mondelez, RIU Hotels & Resorts, and Barceló Group. With this expansion, Tent México now totals more than 60 member companies, including many of the country’s largest employers.
Tent México is seeing unprecedented interest from the Mexican business community to connect with refugee and migrant talent and is playing a critical role in helping its members address their acute labor shortages by connecting them to this largely untapped talent pool. In addition to addressing their immediate labor needs and gaining loyal and talented workers, the companies in Tent México are contributing to the broader economic stability and social integration of refugees and migrants throughout the country.
“We have been working tirelessly to help Tent México member companies connect with refugee and migrant talent across the country and are supporting members in their efforts to develop new programs or scale up their existing efforts to welcome this population into their workforce,” said Gerardo Ancira, Director of Tent México. “We are thrilled to have 11 new companies joining our coalition, which now is more than 60 members strong, and are grateful for their commitment to help refugees and migrants secure lawful jobs and establish formal roots in Mexico.”
